Webinar Recap | Should you build or buy your revenue AI?
Last week we got into the question that's quietly landing on every revenue leader's desk: IT is building agents, Copilot is everywhere, so why buy anything for enablement?
Vanessa Metcalf, VP of Revenue Effectiveness & Value Creation, and Justin Hill, VP of Global Sales Engineering, took it on in our webinar Should you build or buy your revenue AI? Their take: intelligence isn't the gap — context is. General-purpose AI knows a little about everything and almost nothing about how your team sells.
Then came the fun part, a seven-question gut check before you decide:
- Time to value: Empty prompt, or ready to use on day one?
- Agility: A ticket queue, or a no-code builder?
- Continuity: Who owns the agent when the engineer leaves?
- Integration: Who maintains every connector, forever?
- Analytics: Can you prove agents move deals?
- Compliance: Who owns GDPR, the AI Act, and audit trails?
- Incident response: It breaks before your QBR. Who picks up?
Our favorite? Continuity. Nothing humbles a custom-built agent like a resignation letter.
Justin wrapped up with a live demo of Genie Agent Studio, building and managing agents without a ticket queue in sight.
